Fresh Produce Safety Centre

The Fresh Produce Safety Centre (FPSC) continues to go from strength to strength, providing food safety research, education and outreach for the fresh produce industry in Australia and New Zealand.

We recently held two successful events, a Professional Development Event on verification testing, and a Food Safety Forum in Hastings, NZ.
Two significant projects were undertaken in 2015. The first resulted in the Guidelines for Fresh Produce Food Safety, available free on-line here: https://freshproducesafety-anz.com/guidelines/
The second project, Understanding the Gaps, a literature review of the key areas of microbial contamination, identified where further R&D is warranted. We have since raised industry funds and lodged a number of research proposals with funding bodies.
The 2016 Food Safety Conference will be held in Sydney on 10 August. We will review recent developments and explore food safety innovations.
Finally, subscribe to our free newsletter for the latest developments in fresh produce food safety. The website also hosts a number of useful industry resources.
