Is there a need for Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers?

There’s been considerable discussion in recent years about yields across the world plateauing, regardless of how much fertiliser is applied.

In many crops, fertiliser rates have doubled while yields have increased but not doubled, leading to major issues for the environment and poor returns per kilogram of fertiliser applied.
These two issues work hand in hand. With growers looking to increase yields, natural practice is to apply more fertiliser, with more nitrogen lost to the environment and the vicious cycle continues.
As highlighted in Beijing at the 4th International Conference on Slow and Controlled Release and Stabilised Fertilisers, on average only 30–35% nitrogen is efficiently used by the plant.
Meaning one third of the 150 million tonnes of urea nitrogen applied is being lost into the environment.
So what’s the answer? Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers that will maximise your profits and minimise your input costs.
