Importance of post harvest nutrition

Post harvest is an essential time to ensure a healthy productive crop next year.
At this time trees are often at their weakest and recovering from a variety of stresses including crop load, drought and nutrient stress.
During this time many perennial plants develop buds that become next year’s crop.
After a crop is harvested, plants do most of their ‘carbohydrate loading’ for next season’s growth and development.
Carbohydrate loading is critical for early season root and shoot growth. Maximizing the energy stored during this process will in turn maximize the energy that can be utilized next season for flowering, fruit set and fruit fill.
The end result being healthier trees that function at their peak throughout the season.
