Minimise sunburn in orchards

Managing heat stress

PHOTON 500SG has been described as the product that takes the hassle out of heat stress management in horticultural crops.

The low rates of application make for easy mixing and its high compatibility means growers can apply Photon along with their conventional season spray programs.
And there are no longer any issues with residue removal post-harvest on fruits such as apples,  pears and stone fruit.

Not a particle film
It is now in its second season of commercial use in Australia, and has received praise from growers of a large variety of fruit and vegetable crops.

A key feature of PHOTON 500SG is that it is a translocated product which enters the plant within 5–6 hours, leaving no residue on the surface of the fruit or leaves.

PHOTON 500SG is not a particle film. It is a biochemical trigger which acts on the way that up to 400 different enzymes respond to physiological stress in the plant.

The key to successful Photon treatments is to have the product in the plant 3–4 days before a heat event. (Plants will shut down in temperatures above 30C).This gives the plant time to develop the chemistry to resist the damage caused by heat.

Photon must be applied as a season–long program in order to get maximum benefit.

PHOTON 500SG is effective at very low levels with application rates varying from as low as 4 grams of product per 100L water, or 20 g/ha. It is available in 500 gram packs from accredited Agricrop PHOTON 500SG agents.
