Laser tech deters birds

Orchards are investing into laser technology towards a no kill future, deterring birds and reducing losses.

Tasmanian apple grower Brett Griggs has invested into laser technology with Bird Beam.
“We had already lost 35% of our Pink Lady apples to black cockatoos, the laser reduced the bird numbers with an estimated 5% loss after installation,” Brett said.
From a large tree perspective, lasers are protecting Australia’s nut and apple orchards in a bid to reduce bird pressure in a sustainable, silent, and humane way with almost zero labour required.
Laser tech used in 100 countries
The AVIX Autonomic is used in 100 countries, in particular large-scale orchards and vineyards in Chile, Argentina, and USA.
AVIX by Bird Control Group are world leaders in laser technology, with fit for purpose, quality high-performance equipment.
Green beam threatens birds
Birds see the green beam as a permanent stick like threat; sweeping across and into the tree canopy, resulting in birds fleeing.
They then learn to forage elsewhere where the perceived danger is not present.
