Peakfresh makes the most of Fruit Logistica

Peakfresh has again achieved a year of record growth on the back of increased Australian sales and exceptional export sales.

Despite the high Australian dollar Peakfresh has grown export sales through greater penetration of the USA market while developing new markets within Asia and Europe.

Director of Peakfresh, Scott Morton, speaking from the Peakfresh stand at Hong Kong Fruit Logistica said, “Having double-digit growth has been very pleasing. Last financial year presented plenty of hurdles for everyone in horticulture but we found the continued support for Peakfresh very encouraging”.

Peakfresh participated in both the Berlin and Hong Kong Fruit Logistica Expo’s last year.

“Once again Hong Kong has been an exciting success, it’s great to catch up with our international and Australian customers in the one place,” Mr Morton said.

“Fruit Logistica has enabled us to grow sales in markets that historically have not been as strong as summer fruits. We have had very pleasing results with lychee, kiwifruit and pomegranate sales and we will continue to work with key stakeholders to develop options in new markets.”

Benefits of modified atmosphere liners
Peakfresh supplies a range of modified atmosphere carton liners that extend the shelf life of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Ideal for the storage and transportation of produce, Peakfresh provides increased yields through a reduction in weight loss, and the prevention of rejections.

“It’s encouraging to hear how growers are benefiting from short term storage in Peakfresh,” Mr Morton said.

“It enables them to present their fruit in its best physical condition to their customers
“We can’t wait to get back to Australia and begin ramping up for another big year!”

New products
Peakfresh will continue to expand in 2012–13 with the addition of new products lines.
Already supplying smartPac sulphur liners to the table grape industry, Peakfresh is working with clients to meet their packaging requirements.

With its head office in Australia, Peakfresh has representation in Europe, The Americas, South Africa and throughout Asia. Utilising their network, Peakfresh will continue to introduce innovative packing products to the Australian market.
