Anvil or bypass secateurs?

Many growers prefer the cutting action of the anvil secateurs while pruning in pome fruit or stonefruit orchards, or heavy vineyard pruning.

We are pleased to release the new Bighorn anvil secateurs. The new Bighorn range is specifically designed for professionals, contractors and work crews wanting a quality product at an affordable price.
These sturdy anvil secateurs utilize the principle of a drawing cut against a fixed base plate (the anvil), which has been the preferred cutting action used by professionals for over 80 years.
This anvil cutting action provides a better transmission of the cutting power, which results in a soft easy cut, making this the favourite choice amongst professionals when used for pruning harder woods.
The BHAS3125 Bighorn Secateurs are fitted with a High carbon SK-5 steel, hard chrome–plated cutting blade, and an aluminium anvil.
The strong steel handles are fitted with moulded PVC grips. These secateurs have a length of 205 mm and a cutting capacity of 20 mm.

The Bighorn anvil secateurs are available from leading horticultural stores or
