Cherry export workshop, conference & field day

Cherry Growers of Australia is hosting the 2022 export workshop and cherry conference.

The event will be held 15–17 June in Melbourne at the Novotel Melbourne on Collins. This is wonderful news.
After an eight-year hiatus including lockdowns, the export workshop and the cherry conference will be an important and timely get together.
Those attending will hear from other growers and experts from Australia and overseas.
Topics include regenerative agriculture, the latest cherry production science, traceability, workforce, exports, marketing, agritourism and more.
Following the conference there will be an industry dinner in the Grand Ballroom at the historic Hotel Windsor.
Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will accompany canapes on arrival, followed by alternating mains and desserts.
On the field day, there will be a visit to Steritech and a freight forwarder to see export processes conducted first-hand, including irradiation, fumigation, AO and known consignor inspections and technical demonstrations.

USA NorthWest cherries crop forecast
The 2022 crop is just over 15 million 20lb boxes
The cooler weather has slowed down crop development; although prior to the cooler weather and snow, this season was on track to be one of the earliest blooms recorded. (Interesting for those who follow a changing climate.)
